Special Session Proposals

Guidelines for proposing a BISA-2027 special session

BISA-2027 · Proposal guidelines

The BISA-2027 editorial board invites proposals for special sessions that complement the regular conference programme with emerging research in a focused domain. Sessions should be led by researchers whose expertise and accomplishments help bring a valuable perspective to conference participants.

Proposals should present a focused research area and avoid overlap with the regular BISA-2027 tracks. Please follow the requirements below when preparing your proposal.

  1. Define the session focus

Provide an overview of the state of the art and highlight important research directions in the proposed field. The session should be focused rather than broad, and should not overlap with the regular BISA-2027 tracks.

  2. Include these details in your proposal

Keep the proposal to a maximum of two pages and include:

    1. Title and abbreviation of the proposed special session.
    2. Session chair details: names, affiliations, brief biographies, contact information, and email addresses for all chairs.
    3. Session abstract and theme, explaining the topic’s significance and the rationale for the proposed session.
    4. Topics of interest that define the session’s scope.
    5. Submission process, specifying email submission.
  3. Proposal review

Final approval will be based on the proposal’s novelty, its focus on a key research area, and its multidisciplinary value.

  4. Submit your proposal by email

Send the proposal as an email attachment to the BISA-2027 conference team:

  5. Approval and next steps

The decision will be communicated within three days. Approved sessions will receive detailed procedural guidelines, and their calls for papers will be published on this website.
